Sh. V. Raghu Venkataraman, Bsc(Physics Major), BE (Electronics and Communication), M.Tech(RS & GIS) has 30 yrs experience in various positions in National Remote Sensing Centre(NRSC), Hyderabad, ISRO, Headquaters, Hyderabad and Antrix Corporation.
In NRSC he has served as Manager Data Sales and promotion at NRSC Data Centre for nearly a decade during the 90s and was closely involved in IRS satellite data marketing & dissemination. Thereafter , he served in Aerial Surveys and Digital Mapping Area of NRSC for another decade rising to the level of General Manager. During this period he included/utilized airborne digital aerial photogrammetry, airborne LiDAR, KGPS/GPS control surveys and Digital Photogrammetry/Mapping technologies . He was responsible for executing nearly 45 mapping and aerial data acquisition projects for users including projects for close contours surveys for disaster preparedness.
Subsequently he has served in ISRO HQ for a couple of years as Associate Director for Satellite Communications Policy Implementation.
Thereafter he has worked in Antrix Corporation as Director Remote Sensing Data Services and as Executive Director Operations handling corporate matters/finance and international marketing for IRS products and services for about 3 yrs. Notable achievemrnts are the establishment of group segment at KSAT, Norway for RISAT-1 and GAF, Germany and UOD, UK for Oceansat-2 satellite.
He has also briefly served as Chief Manager Regional Centre at NRSC coordinating the activities of 5 regional centres at Bangalore , Jodhpur, Nagpur, Kolkata and Delhi.
Currently he is Deputy Director , Aerial Services and Digital Mapping and Outreach Area at NRSC.
He is recipient of ISRO Team Excellence award for Disaster Management and ASI award for Space Systems Management.
